Industrial Railways and Locomotives of Furness Westmorland and Isle of Man has been compiled by Peter Holmes and is part of the IRSs series covering the industrial railways and locomotives of Great Britain.

Originally planned as a single volume dealing with the post-1974 county of Cumbria, it soon became clear that there was too much material for a single book and as a result it was divided into two volumes. The first volume, published in June 2017 covers the former county of Cumberland and this volume covers Furness and Westmorland, with the addition of the Isle of Man. The two volumes include material previously published in Pocket Book M (pub. 1966) which covered Cumberland Westmorland and the Isle of Man, together with material on the Furness area of Lancashire which originally appeared in Pocket Book 7 (pub. 1952). The information in these earlier works has been substantially added to, and many more sites are now listed than were previously.

This book lists and describe the locomotives, along with their locations, and also non-locomotive and preservation sites. In addition to this there are details of selected minor railways, dealers and civil engineering contracts. At the end of the book is a locomotive index, an index of owners and locations, and an index of locomotive names.

49 colour and 184 black & white photographs, 24 black & white illustrations and numerous maps. Hardback. 416 pages.
